About
Navid Vakili is an Iranian-Canadian portrait and lifestyle photographer based in Montreal. His style of photography is influenced by the works of Yousuf Karsh and Sebastião Salgado. He is proficient in analogue photography and has been mainly focusing on digital photography in recent years. His photographs have a dramatic and poetic theme to them, revealing palpable impressions of his subjects in a subtle and softly lit environment. Navid engages his subjects in personal and intimate conversations so that he can freeze time at the right moments and capture their pure contemplation.
“You dance inside my chest where no one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art.”
